sick. sad.

down with fever. sucs totally. just when i felt so motivated to study for my exams, i fell sick. thanks to the unbearable heat and the super cold libraries.. plus the late nights plus increasing stress due to the fact that exams are in 1 week time!!!

it has been a really tiring week for me. with thai oral, thai writing test, and practical exam. so glad that they're all over. i still have a 1000 word essay to finish. :(

i cant wait for all these to be over... even after exams are over.. i'll be super busy man. flying off to vietnam for about 3 weeks for cip. from the end of my exams(5th may) to the day i fly off (10th may) i have so much non leisure activities lined up. bleah... dont even have time to enjoy... when i return, i'll have to worry about my results.. which are released on 31st may.. haiz..

i really hope i can finish revising for exams in 1 week. hopefully i can still rmb the stuff i memorised during the CAs. well, i guess at this point in time, i can only expect the worst and hope for the best.

aww.. so sweet... <3

LOVIN' THAI once again.
haha.. i'm so fickle minded... in the previous post i was dreading it.. coz of oral! but now that oral is over( it was quite good coz we got the topic we prepared for), i'm loving it again. rigt now, how i wish everyone around me could speak thai.. so that i can converse with them in thai.. haha :D my siblings are getting a bit irritated by my thai.. they say it sounds like i m spewing vulgarities. -.- a bit crude... maybe i'm not getting the tones right...

anyway, today is songkran day! aka po1 shui3 jie2
i attended the nus songkran celebration last sat. it was great fun. there was a concert put up by the thai club. they invited a thai pop band... the band was highlight of the concert!.. nice songs(even though i couldnt understand what they were singing).. and the lead male singer was so shuai! haha.. super charismatic... the drummer was very pro too..haha...all the performances were linked together by a skit. the skit was put up by the thai lang lvl 4 and 5 nus students. they could speak so fluently. i would have thought they were thais. i was so amazed by their ability to speak thai.. and so inspired to continue taking thai after this sem... truly admire them...lol :D and then after the enjoyable concert, there were lots of delicious thai food... the phat thai was the best. and for dessert, mango sticky rice totally rocks! (usually i dont eat mangoes. but everyone said it was damn good. so i tried it.. and fell in love with it :D)
once again, my thai class buddies. plus my dearest ?aacaan

and my fav thai dessert :)

mango sticky rice (khaaw niaw ma muang):D

SUK SAN WAN SONGKRAN! happy songkran day :D

!!! it's less than two weeks to finals. but i still have essay and prac exam this week. and chunks of stuff to cramp into that small pathetic brain of mine. things look really bad. during times like this.... giving up seems to be an easy way out.... BUT imagine the consequences man... it's crazy...

i need to see some light at the end of the tunnel again!

what makes me really frustrated.
i realise the thing that really makes me super sian, stress, irritated and flip is not having a lot of work to do. in fact i like having lots of stuff to do. as long as i see progress. the part i hate is when the stuff i embark on stands still. no progress..... not seeing progress just kills my motivation totally. URGH!!!!! poor efficiency turns me off totally!
eg. thai... at first, when i knew nothing about this language.. i felt so good when i could rmb all the new words. that sense of achievement is my motivation. then right now... i'm totally dying. spent the whole day practising thai with my oral partner. super duper sian. plus the unbearable heat...and the muscle ache in my back and shoulder. :( motivation level = 0 !!! OMG!!! HOW?!?! I NEED TO FIND MY MOTIVATION, COZ MY ORAL IS NEXT WEEK!!! AHHHH!!!???!!?

right now i'm so mad with myself... how i wish i could find the motivation i had in studying physio on monday. had dinner alone, studied alone in the lib till 10pm before returning home alone.. then stayed up late alone to finish some readings..i felt a little lonely, but i had a clear goal and lots of motivation. even after studying, i still felt very alive and awake. didnt even need caffeine to keep myself awake. in fact the more i study the happier i become. oh man.. if only everyday is as productive as that day. i probably wont need to stop by my blog to rant. haha :D

i must be crazy to like working. too much free time drives me nuts too. still thinking of stuff to fill up my 3 months holz. wonder who would want to hire me to work for only 1.5 months.. :(

i feel a lot better already :) great place to rant. haha :) plus the nice daily scoop icecream that made my day :) whee :D time to get back to work!

horrible week coming up soon. it's less than 3 weeks to final exam!!!!!!!

;D confession of a workaholic-to-be

drama update

new drama. currently airing in taiwan :)

synopsis:
After the famous author Xia He Jie literally crashed the movie premier that supermodel Amanda attended, he was sentenced to 158 hours of community service in a kindergarten. And thus, it began the most hellish 158 hours of his life. There he met Ma Xiao Qian, a teacher who not only didn't fall for his charming personality like the rest of the female population, she made him suffered for every minute of his community service. What he didn't know was that Xiao Qian was a former neighbor who he had bullied relentlessly as a child. Now, she is bend on revenging for the miserable childhood that she endured under his tyrannical reign.

what i think: story plot is the cliche type. the ordinary girl who is the former neighbour will end up with the famous author. in the show they incorporated all the factors that make an idol drama popular, eg. rich/successful man falling in love with ordinary girl(so that many girls can relate to it.. and fantasize abt it.. thinking that one day they may be like the main actress), include some hokkien dialogues, fight a lot at first but fall in love unknowingly... etc

i started on this partly becoz down with love ended. needed something else to alleviate my drama withdrawal symptoms...apparently the ratings for this show is higher than that of down with love. this show is definitely not the super funny type. most people may not know the lead actors and actresses ba... but so far so good. quite interesting. i like the theme song too :D worth watching :)

dont understand why the guy must always be rich/successful/powerful.. while the girl is ugly/ordinary/poor... why cant it be the other way round?

my beloved thai classmates :D

yay :D group photo taken during songkran workshop :) the female in grey shirt and white pants is my ?aacaan! suay maak kha! a few others are missing though...
chan chccp rian phasaa thay kap phuan!

there was a sweet wrapping contest. haha.. my group won. lol, our grp name: dii maak (very good) lol..

so much fun! :)
hell weeks are finally over. haha... i should have blogged a lot earlier.. but when i have more time on hand, i end up doing a lot of other stuff except blogging. haha... anyway, this week(super slack & fun week) is coming to an end! :( spent the whole of yesterday playing mahjong and monopoly with my family.. when was the last time u played games with ur family? lol :D my fam rocks totally!

anyway since the last blogpost, i received two outing photos from my friends :) most of the time, i'll only post about the activity when i receive the photos. haha....

we attended nus ge yao concert. ailin was performing. she could sing really well.. haha there were two other people who were very good too. some were not as good but u can see the amount of effort they put in so it was still commendable. but there was 1, who totally cant sing well.. yet didnt seem to put in his best effort. he sang 3 songs! a torture for the audience. lots of foreign talent attended the concert... i must say that the lyrics and melodies of the songs were really professional. u would never have guessed that they were the works of the students. lots of substance. great concert :)

the most recent outing: wen to tao's with pat, lari, shermin and jieying!!! haha.. manage to drive there!!!!!!! :)super exciting. great dinner as usual. thank goodness there were no red beans in my tiramisu! lol :D i'm glad everyone enjoyed the dinner..

oh and for nuh cip, we started on another project, quilt banner!!! spent quite a lot of money at spotlight.. not on cloth, but on fabric paints.... i am determined to make the project a success.. if not all the money we spent will go to waste :X but so far so good. everyone seems to like the idea.. and we managed to make a few pieces already :) oh and Angie(a patient) finally got discharged!!!!!!! yay! she's a really nice and smart girl, i am very happy for her :) but i wonder who am i gonna play with next session.. lol :D the thought of making an impact on someone's life just makes me feel super happy :D

if u want to make ur stuff smell nice, take a small piece of paper and drip a bit of ur fav fragrance on it. put it in eg. ur notebook... and ur notebook will smell as lovely as mine. haha.. my fren say i'm nuts.. coz everytime i open my notebook, i'll sniff at it.. like a glue addict.. wahaha...

on thurs, there was a songkran(the thai festival: po shui jie) cultural session... we sang thai songs, danced and wrapped sweets...oh and pour water over the four face buddha... haha hoping that we'll be blessed with cap 5... lol :D it was very fun.. and the best part was we took lots of photos with our ?aacaan(teacher)... and interacted with our classmates :D everyone is so lovely and friendly.. i love the thai culture a lot... cant wait to go bangkok with my thai frens.. hopefully we can go visit our teacher too :D oh and i just found out that my han yu pin yin sucs ttm now. coz of thai... keep getting the tones wrong :S thats the only con in learning thai.

yeah.. so many fun activities in the past week... time to stop playing already! with ca next week, thai oral and biodiversity practical exam round the corner, and finals too, i better start mugging my ass off....still thinking of a best place to study in. home / library? library.
