off to vietnam :)
will be flying off to vietnam for overseas cip in 6 hours time. just finished packing my bag. will be returning on the 28th may. so excited :D i hope we can make a difference to the locals lives, enjoy ourselves... and forge new friendships... hopefully everything proceeds smoothly.. :D off to bed :) i dont think i can sleep though. driving to airport later :) woots! banner finally done :D
so what exactly have i been doing weekly at nuh?this quilt banner!!! it's finally done :D i'm so happy.. haha :D every week, when i volunteer at nuh, we'll get the patients to design and decorate the small pieces of cloth. leave their 'mark' in the hospital :D and yesterday, kar wai, lari and i came together and sewed them all together. the banner is gonna be hung up at the paed's ward according to benjy. sewing was fun, but very tedious even though we used sewing machine. once again i put my sewing skills to good use :) wouldnt have done it without kar wai and lari's help though. cant wait to see the banner in the hospital :) i hope it brightens up all the patients' day!

wow. i survived my first year of university (*gives myself a pat on the back!) time just flew past, i cant believe i finished two semesters already. thats kind of scary...it's like i managed to gain enough experience points, allowing me to level UP. lol :D anyway, i ended my exams yesterday, feeling so relieved. so glad that exams are over, at least for now. reading week was well utilized. had so much motivation to study..but i guess that was because there were so much stuff that were not yet in my brain just 1 week before exams. i felt so dead man... spent most of my awake hours in the school library.. even during the weekends(science library rocks! it's the best :D so homely.)... thank goodness my studying mates were there :) pris and peijin! and i met new studying mates: xiao da and eunice.. all four of them are such great studying partners...they make mugging sessions a lot less lonely. the cakes and frappes at spinelli kept me going too, i spent so much money on food during reading week. but it was well spent.. haha :D while i was at the lib, there were many medicine students around. i really admire their determination and will power to study. they mugged just as hard as us.. turning up at the lib everyday, and yet their exam only start on may 12th. i seriously admire their stamina. 2 weeks in the lib was the max for me already. if my exams dragged on any longer... i probably would lose steam already. i bet their bell curve( if there is one) or exam papers must be damn hard. coz there's probably no one in medicine that doesnt study that hard right? how to separate the pros from the super pros. lol :D and so after my last paper, i went out with pris to watch ironman2 at iluma. the cinema is so new... and cosy.. plus the mall isnt crowded at all. loved the show totally. i just dunno what to say about tony starks. on one hand i totally want to give him a tight slap because he's such a super egoistic guy that creates so much problems for everyone, but on the other hand i just envy him so much cause he gets to do everything and anything he wants. oh man, but at the end of the day, u just forgive him for being so egoistic, because he's really that brilliant. creating new elements? crazy. who in the world does that?! thank goodness its fiction, i wouldnt want to memorise an extra element on my periodic table. -.- haha.. after movie, it was dinner at jap restaurant. my fav sashimi set. plus dessert at a cafe outside iluma. pris and i were like talking about orientation. it feels as if orientation week was last week. how did we survive uni year 1?! how did we get to know each other when so far we only took a module together... in a few months time, we'll be attending orientation camp again, but this time round, as seniors... haha.. and we even thought of the modules that we'll probably be taking even before next sem even start?! thats crazy.. haha :D what an enjoyable and relaxing night, even though i did burn a hole in my pocket. but who cares? this is good life! the start of the holidays just means that i'll be super busy everyday. thats why i'm like blogging today and not procrastinating. if i have time, the first thing i would do is to watch DRAMAS. did that last night. watched till 3am..(i was rewatching it: bai quan nv wang) in the end i couldnt sleep after that cause i became so excited..:X gonna go out later to nuh to settle cip stuff.. plus thai dinner tonight! yay! so looking forward to it :D well i guess thats about it for now. gonna watch more dramas before leaving the hse. cya kaes :D HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!! p.s.: i'll be flying to vietnam from 10th may to 28th may. driving to genting from 28th may to 30th may. by the time i return, it's june :D to xiuwen: we've got to meet! when is everyone free? lets meet when i come back. or will u guys be flying off to somewhere? |
