start of the curse and swear period again.
every time before semester starts, we have the curse and swear period: bidding for modules. it sucs totally... creates unnecessary worrying..and stress. just swapping groups can be a headache. people just cant make up their minds. everyone keep saying 'maybe'. confirm already still pang seh ppl... so horrible. have they thought about how dreadful it feels to be pang seh at the last minute? they should just put themselves in others' shoes. this 'every man for himself' behaviour is so ugly. no wonder in the adults' world... it's so cruel... anyway, these few days i've been rotting at home. procrastinating. u have no idea how much i wish i was at work. at least i'm not wasting my time/life away. everyday i tell myself to read up on what modules to take... and in the end, i always find myself watching dramas, checking fb. this fb thing is really scary.. i think i'm addicted to it... watching drama the whole day is crazy. i think i'm old already. previously, i can watch for many hours and feel alright. but these two days, i get a really bad headache after watching for some time. anyway, i finished 偷心大聖P.S.男. i really like the show. i have to admit blue is probably not the hottest/ most shuai guy.. but he has got the charisma... very attractive.. haha.. and sonia's so pretty. not to mention there's james and bianca. both of them look great on screen too.. i like the storyline, the part about dreams... while watching, i really envy sonia so much.. cause she has a dream and she can fulfill it... plus she has someone that loves her so so so much... and everything boils down to doing something that u really like in life, and that becomes your source of happiness. i think it's hard to describe the feelings in english. but basically i just feel so touched and envious while watching the show. i kind of feel sad for myself... for not having a dream... for being so short sighted... only concern about doing well in my studies. there's more to life than grades isnt it? is it applicable in singapore context? i really want to lead a happy and fulfilling life.
![]() best temp job ever!
the last week of work was the best week ever!!! filled with lots of outings and meals with colleagues. for the past few weeks at work, i look forward to meet everyone everyday... we take lots of photos and hang out tgt and before u know it, everyone feels so attached to each other...i'm missing them already. wonder what my coming Monday will be like... well, let the photos do the talking. :D i feel so happy just looking at these photos. these fond memories can last me a lifetime :) starting from wed night... we had a farewell singing session. i was laughing throughout the whole session. a really funny bunch of people! on thurs, i had korean lunch with my 3 fav colleagues. knew them since last year. they never fail to make me smile :) later that day, we had laksa steamboat for dinner.... the food was so good... but super sinful. we even had dessert at bakerzin after dinner. OMG. so much calories! awesome night though! on fri (my last day of work), there was a mini farewell party organized for daniel(an intern leaving on the same day as me) and i. followed by phototaking session at the rooftop of MND building :) all the permanent staff :) we were the founders of ccs youth club... haha later in the afternoon, we had a desserts party :) and even my boss(the one on the right) came to join. he played UNO with us too!!! i had my supervisor( the guy on the left) and boss to take a photo tgt, coz they look like brothers. they are really really nice people :D this kind of summarize what i did during my temp stint. all the super duper wonderful people i've met. love all of them to bits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this few weeks, everyone had so much fun tgt... and we were all so sad that we most prob wont meet each other after we leave ccs... esp the interns because most of them study in overseas universities... so i drew the 6 of us(founders of ccs youth club) on the whiteboard. this pic drew so much attention. so many people loved it and even some directors came into the meeting room just to see it. they even told me not to rub it off so soon... erm ok... i guess they really need some youthfulness and joy in the office :) to make sure we continue to stay in touch, i even started a fb grp: ccs youth club. haha... the 6 founders of ccs youth club ^^ this holiday of mine rocks totally!
i ran out of words for the title.
from the last post till now.... i went to sing k with my colleagues.... met up with the jumpers for dinner.... watched an amazing football match ( argentina vs germany) and a disappointing match ( germany vs spain) attended seniors prep camp..fell sick... became the 'director' of intern/temp staff/youth... attended a presentation at ajc..played table soccer in office...![]() dinner with esf at paragon. all the k pros. i think the ability to sing matures with age. all of them sing so well...it was really an 'ear' opener. haha... got to hear a lot of songs from other generation/era... plus hokkien songs... and i got to see the non-office side of my colleagues. very fun people to be with :D closest buddy in office :) most likable person in office :) she's so so so nice :D i cant stop smiling everytime i see her ^^ dinner with jumpers @ v8 cafe in bugis junction. so happy that so many turned up... our initial plan of cycling was canceled... so we just met for dinner. had to leave slightly earlier to catch germany play against argentina... so didnt manage to talk more to the jumpers.. the germany and argentina match was so good! so worth it to watch. in order to watch it, i cab from bugis to west coast Mcs. the fare was so ex...coz there's traffic jam. it was more ex than my dinner :( but it was still worth it. i only missed the first 10 mins of the match and they already scored 1 goal. the start of this week, i moved out of my working cubicle. due to the lack of cubicles in office, i end up having a meeting room all to myself. such a big room... even normal staff dont get that luxury. haha :D the only bad thing is that i have to shift to another room (ex-director's room which is currently the photocopy room)if anyone needs to use the meeting room. although it's troublesome to move around... it's quite enjoyable to change working environment after some time. and everyone just comes to my 'office' to slack... haha.. and they start calling me 'director' of intern/temp/youth... lol.. on wed, i attended sow snr's prep camp. was a little apprehensive at first.. coz the whole group is made up of cliques. everyone seems to know each other.. the games are quite fun...it made me feel like a freshman again. it's a pity my team aint that close yet. hopefully we'll be closer during actual camp... the fear factor games were bad. i ended up eating dried frogskin and dried frogs mixed in raw egg. bleah.. gross to the max. i really admire the guys for eating most of the horrible mixture. eew :S took a day off from camp. attended my company's presentation at ajc :) a very diff experience. looking at the students from an external presenter's point of view. felt so old cause all the students are younger than me. and although i wasnt the one who presented, the teacher still gave me a ajc teddy bear :) so cute ^^ later in the afternoon, there was a foosball aka table soccer intra office competition. super fun and exciting. work productivity in office was probably at an all time low... haha... cause everyone was watching... oh and the germany vs spain match was so so so disappointing... so irritated with the octopus. urgh... this was the first time i felt so attached to a football match. i really feel so sad. hopefully tonight, they would put up a great fight and win uruguay... 1 more week of work left. on fri, when i was resting at home.. thanks to my swollen lymph nodes, i felt so bored. imagine if i didnt have a holiday job.. i would probably die of boredom at home... i'm so looking forward to going to office right now cause i have so many friends in office. i'm so gonna miss them when i leave next fri. got to go bathe and rest before waking up for the 2.30am match. watching at Mcs is so much more enjoyable than watching the match at home. :) go germany! wat a looooooooooooooooong post. 9 days flew by just like that.
oh dear, the holidays seem to be ending... :( which means sch's gonna start. :Slast fri, there was an alumni nanyang guides gathering at nygh. great opportunity to meet up with my batch mates :) we always said we would meet up soon... but we always end up postponing the meeting... first thing i noticed about everyone... was that everyone. yes i mean EVERYONE had long hair. oh man... i'm the only short hair gal :) i promise that i'm never gonna grow my hair long man... i'm sticking to my short hair forever. being in nanyang, looking at the old photos and the familiar faces... reminded me of the fun i had in nanyang, those wonderful guiding memories. for a moment, i felt so old... looking at the juniors reminded me of how we used to be called green horns. haha :D i felt so happy when i saw ms ng. she still looks like the same old ms ng... she made such a great impact on my life... after dinner, glutts went to island creamery :) the ice cream rocks! but i still prefer daily scoop :) it was a pity that pauline didnt come. haven talked to her for ages. she must be mugging or watching tv.. haha.. shall call her up real soon :) renice and gao min are the best jnrs ever. ![]() suat and shu are my swallow mates. haha.. first two frens i made in guides. ... and then on tues... i met up with esf. we met for dinner... although the dinner was great.. cause we shared so many diff dishes... but i think meeting up in the hall is a lot more fun. :D everyone shared their stories... i just love to listen to them talk. they have exceptionally exciting and happening lives! i have been so tired these 9 days.. partly because i had been joining my dad at the west coast Mcs to watch football... till 12 plus... and then work has been kind of stressfull(i think i am the cause of my stress :X) so i end up drinking a cup of super thick coffee everyday to stay awake. thank goodness there's always cheap and delicious lunch to look forward to.. and the wonderful new frens i've made in office :) plus the uno sessions...and all that snooping around the pantry looking for snacks... etc. :D mrt rides are enjoyable thanks to the time traveller's wife( i finished that already. i like the story.. but i am gonna rate it m18. not suitable for kids) and i'm currently reading a book on how to improve ppt presentations. the book is really useful.. hopefully my boss gives it to me :) :) :) lunching buddies :) this group just gets bigger and bigger each day. well i guess thats how my past 9 days flew past. i just handed in my timesheet today! cant wait to receive my pay :) two more weeks of work... and i'm free :D will be attending prep camp next wk.. i hope it wont disappoint me... off to bed now :) bye! oh and we adopted 2 hamsters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they seem quite retarded compared to my previous hamster. -.- |
