awesome idea, at least i think it is.
i have this really cool idea to celebrate my 21st birthday. yeah i know my birthday's far far away, but i just got a little carried away while i think of ways to surprise my frens on their 21st birthdays. i wanna try out 21 new things before 9 dec. so that on my birthday, i can post 21 photos of each of the things i've done. haha.. but the prob is what things can i do? how to come up with 21 things? any suggestions? i feel so excited just thinking abt my plan.

right now, i feel that my legs are gonna fall off any moment. will be collecting newspapers from the hdb blks next wk.. for fundraising. just went to distribute flyers for that earlier in the day. and omg, while i was walking from hse to hse, i made lots of observations on hdb life.

what i observed:
shirtless men with all sorts of body shape. (ranging frm bamboo thin to bulging fats.)
5pm is a common time for baby feeding.
sat afternoon is a great time for hsewives to iron clothes.
little kids seem to like running around the hse with no underwear on.
cable tv is super popular in hdb.
some have so much confidence in singapore's security that they leave their doors & grills open for strangers to enter.
some grow their own 'manmade' forests outside their hses, while some have mini zoos..
some people are plain hoarders.
hdb estates are like mazes, it's possible to get lost in them.
a rabbit on the loose.
annoying dogs scaring the sh*t out of strangers.
whatever unglam stuff u do can be seen if u dont close the door.

card making :)
card making is therapeutic. haha.. it gives me a sense of satisfaction. :) but my creativity is limited. so i find it really hard to come up with new designs. wonder how shu ning can always come up with ideas for her craft business.
happy wednesday :D

go watch this!!!
YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL. LOVE THIS SHOW TO BITS. after watching this, rest assured u'll feel torn between the 3 guys(bad grammar. but u know what i mean right?). who to like?!?!?!?! all of them!!! they just blow ur mind away. u'll love the ost too. :D it doesnt hurt to start the new year going crazy over a sweet fantasy right? haha. if u really heed my advice and watch it, tell me abt it kaes. ;)

here comes the new year. 2011. hurray.
to be honest, i'm not a fan of new year. i dont get the point in celebrating the start of a new year since it means more stress and uncertainties coming my way. plus the usual annoying bidding period makes the 1st week of 2011 miserable. oh well... that still cant change the fact that 2011 is already HERE. the only SILLY consolation i have for myself is that my siblings and i believe that 2012 will be the END OF THE WORLD. we'll all die then. so might as well enjoy 2011. lol.

there's only one word to describe yr 2 sem 2: BUSY. yeah but that word kind of describes every body else's lives too.

recently, i've got to know some new frens from cip.. and when i listen to them talk about the stuff they've done in yr 1.. i was totally amazed. those people dare to dream and take risks. they really have lots of confidence in what they do. despite all the activities they were involved in, they could still excel in their studies. WOW. thats what i called a fulfilling and meaningful uni life, a life i've always dreamt of leading. whatever i did in yr 1 pale in comparison man.

so here's claire making a promise to herself: 2011 has got to be more eventful than 2010. she has got to try out more new things and challenge herself to do stuff she has never thought she would do. in the midst of all these, she hopes to be a better fren to her frens. because she knows that life would never be the same without them :D
she must be a HAPPIER girl in 2011 :D

here's a snapshot of people who make me HAPPY :) :) :)

happy whirlwind holz
YAY!!! :D finally back from my 2 weeks long malaysia road trip. 1 more week to the start of a new semester; 2nd day into the new year 2011.

i'll try to make it a not-too-long post. here goes...

b4 the road trip, i was busy with the children's day camp. i guess it went rather smoothly and well despite the little hiccups here and there. really glad that the children liked it. their smiles really made everything worthwhile... they made my holiday more meaningful :) hopefully they will be more obedient this coming sem since they got to know us better. the only pity is the fact that as an organiser, i didnt get to interact much with the kids(i really wish i could). oh well, it cant be helped right? too bad i cant post photos of those kids, they are really super cute, though they can be rather mischievous at times. but i can post a photo of those people with big hearts :D haha.. i meant the lovely volunteers. lol
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
next... i had another birthday surprise. :D i must say that pris is a really lousy liar(thats a compliment kaes). haha.... it didnt take too long for me to find out what was going on. lol.. my beloved lecture buddies brought me to marina barrage for a birthday picnic. it was so so so so so AWESOME! there were beautiful flowers, a cake made of pancakes and dried fruits, warm sparkling juice, home-cooked food, great company, stunning scenery and a whole lot of camwhoring. it was like a dream come true. you have no idea how blessed i feel, to be able to have them as my lecture buddies. couldnt have survived those horrible semesters in sch without them... i'm glad i was able to meet true friends for life even in uni..

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

road trip to malaysia was such a great experience. 2 weeks, 5 destinations. total dist covered 2000 km... right now, my love for driving is way low. driving, esp in singapore, doesnt excite me anymore. every part of the trip was unforgettable... the map reading, getting lost, food tasting, sight seeing, picture taking ...

first stop was fraser hill. love the cooling weather and beautiful old english houses. perfect place to just chill and relax, drink tea, eat scones and enjoy the company of your love ones....

this was taken in the 'old smokehouse'. a great place to have tea :D old english house with beautiful christmas decor. it feels so cosy. couldnt stop snapping photos of the pretty decor. :D

2nd stop: ipoh
a quick 1 day stop at ipoh to try famous ipoh food :D the hotel we stayed in was beyond our expectations. it was newly renovated.. so i think we were the first occupants of the room. spent an afternoon checking out a famous limestone cave.

3rd stop: penang
i have to admit that penang was a food paradise. every meal was something different :D from hawker fare to seafood dinner... it's hard to not put on weight... lol

here's the food we tried in penang... there's a lot more not featured. now imagine the amt of weight i've put on. oh dear. :/

i spent my christmas driving. :S wat a horrible way to spend christmas. :X

4th stop: LANGKAWI!!! my fav destination :D
this is beach paradise!!! the most exciting place ever!!!!!! we spent the most number of days there... so we had time to do EVERYTHING there is to do on the island. haha :D the best parts were the snorkeling and the parasailing...WOOHOO!!! love it :D plus this is the first time i drove a rented car :) cool :D
1 hr boat ride to the 'platform'. best place to snorkel... tonnes of fishes. the view underwater is indescribable. so darn amazing and awesome. a must try!
PARASAILING rocks totally! thats me in the pic :) the view from the top blows ur mind away. not as scary as it seems to be. roller coaster is scarier than this. lol :D

sumptuous seafood dinners end our stop in langkawi with a blast!

last stop: cameron highlands
another cooling destination :D main attractions are the tea plantations, strawberry farms and the hot and steamy steamboat :)

well that wraps up my whole dec holiday :D
how i wish every holz can be that eventful. haha ;)

i realised i really like to use the word 'really'. really? lol!
