happy whirlwind holz
YAY!!! :D finally back from my 2 weeks long malaysia road trip. 1 more week to the start of a new semester; 2nd day into the new year 2011.

i'll try to make it a not-too-long post. here goes...

b4 the road trip, i was busy with the children's day camp. i guess it went rather smoothly and well despite the little hiccups here and there. really glad that the children liked it. their smiles really made everything worthwhile... they made my holiday more meaningful :) hopefully they will be more obedient this coming sem since they got to know us better. the only pity is the fact that as an organiser, i didnt get to interact much with the kids(i really wish i could). oh well, it cant be helped right? too bad i cant post photos of those kids, they are really super cute, though they can be rather mischievous at times. but i can post a photo of those people with big hearts :D haha.. i meant the lovely volunteers. lol

next... i had another birthday surprise. :D i must say that pris is a really lousy liar(thats a compliment kaes). haha.... it didnt take too long for me to find out what was going on. lol.. my beloved lecture buddies brought me to marina barrage for a birthday picnic. it was so so so so so AWESOME! there were beautiful flowers, a cake made of pancakes and dried fruits, warm sparkling juice, home-cooked food, great company, stunning scenery and a whole lot of camwhoring. it was like a dream come true. you have no idea how blessed i feel, to be able to have them as my lecture buddies. couldnt have survived those horrible semesters in sch without them... i'm glad i was able to meet true friends for life even in uni..

road trip to malaysia was such a great experience. 2 weeks, 5 destinations. total dist covered 2000 km... right now, my love for driving is way low. driving, esp in singapore, doesnt excite me anymore. every part of the trip was unforgettable... the map reading, getting lost, food tasting, sight seeing, picture taking ...

first stop was fraser hill. love the cooling weather and beautiful old english houses. perfect place to just chill and relax, drink tea, eat scones and enjoy the company of your love ones....

this was taken in the 'old smokehouse'. a great place to have tea :D old english house with beautiful christmas decor. it feels so cosy. couldnt stop snapping photos of the pretty decor. :D

2nd stop: ipoh
a quick 1 day stop at ipoh to try famous ipoh food :D the hotel we stayed in was beyond our expectations. it was newly renovated.. so i think we were the first occupants of the room. spent an afternoon checking out a famous limestone cave.

3rd stop: penang
i have to admit that penang was a food paradise. every meal was something different :D from hawker fare to seafood dinner... it's hard to not put on weight... lol

here's the food we tried in penang... there's a lot more not featured. now imagine the amt of weight i've put on. oh dear. :/

i spent my christmas driving. :S wat a horrible way to spend christmas. :X

4th stop: LANGKAWI!!! my fav destination :D
this is beach paradise!!! the most exciting place ever!!!!!! we spent the most number of days there... so we had time to do EVERYTHING there is to do on the island. haha :D the best parts were the snorkeling and the parasailing...WOOHOO!!! love it :D plus this is the first time i drove a rented car :) cool :D
1 hr boat ride to the 'platform'. best place to snorkel... tonnes of fishes. the view underwater is indescribable. so darn amazing and awesome. a must try!
PARASAILING rocks totally! thats me in the pic :) the view from the top blows ur mind away. not as scary as it seems to be. roller coaster is scarier than this. lol :D

sumptuous seafood dinners end our stop in langkawi with a blast!

last stop: cameron highlands
another cooling destination :D main attractions are the tea plantations, strawberry farms and the hot and steamy steamboat :)

well that wraps up my whole dec holiday :D
how i wish every holz can be that eventful. haha ;)

i realised i really like to use the word 'really'. really? lol!
